March 2017

WELCOME

A warm welcome to our new pupils and parents, and a sincere thank you to everyone who continues to support Danceforce in our endeavours, as we embark on our 20th year with myself as principal!
I can’t believe we are 3 months into 2017 and we have already achieved so much as a school! After our amazing Now That’s What I Call Dance show in December, where over 100 students danced their hearts out; we have already had the chance to perform these again at Bobby Dazzler’s at Her Majesty’s Theatre on 26th February. This was such a fantastic experience for the 20 girls involved and we are so proud of each and every one of you! We have also welcomed two new and fantastic teachers to our Danceforce team this term, Miss Charlotte and Miss Libby.
In July we will be holding another Little Movers display to celebrate our 20th year and showcase all our little dancers talent! (Date to be confirmed)

If you wish to make any changes to your child's classes – changing the day of the lesson or withdrawing from a class altogether, it is imperative that you inform the office in writing. Without a written request we are unable to process changes and you will be invoiced accordingly.

Students are automatically re-enrolled from term to term and in accordance with the joining registration document, we require a half term's notice of stopping a class.

Uniform

Uniform must be worn for class, if children are cold, a tight fitting crossover can be purchased or a Danceforce tracksuit.
Hair must be tied back in a bun or an appropriate alternative.
In the interests of health and safety and safe dance practise, jewellery must not be worn, unless for religious or cultural reasons.

Watching Days

Organised towards the end of term at the discretion of the teacher.

Private Lessons

Private lessons offer an opportunity for one-to-one coaching on syllabus or non-syllabus work. The sessions can assist with preparation for examinations, studying a new syllabus and strengthening technique and performance skills. For more information please contact Carol.

Security

Thankyou to parents and guardians for following our new instructions on picking up children and dropping off.
I would like parents to come into the building to collect their children/ teenagers, I don't want any Danceforce pupils waiting on the road to be collected.
I know that some senior students make their own way home, I would rather they were picked up by parents, but if they do need to make their own way home, please have a safety talk with them and make sure they are dressed properly.
After class, Infant/Junior Children should wait in the hall with the teacher, senior school children must wait in the lobby where the teacher can see them.
Danceforce pupils should not be leaving classes in just their leotard & tights.
I would ask parents to take this opportunity to remind their children how to stay safe and not to speak with strangers. Most importantly you must always come into the hall area to make sure that classes are on  - DO NOT DROP THEM OFF AND DRIVE OFF.

Please always shut the main front doors.
