All our teachers are registered with either the RAD, ISTD or LAMDA and have the training and qualifications necessary to teach to all ages in accordance with government regulated and accredited boards.

Ballet, Modern, Tap and Jazz
Carol’s dancing career began at a very tender age of 3, then at the Linda Sweetzer School where she had her first taste of assisting teaching, before training at London College of Dance under the expert tuition of Hilary Clark, Victoria Chappell & Tereza Theodoulou, she was able to study all forms of dance including RAD ballet; modern; tap; jazz; national; and contemporary. After graduating, Carol began her teaching career before taking over as Principal of Danceforce in 1996 when her first child was just 6 months old, and since then the school and her family have doubled in size! 2016/17 marked Carol’s 20th Anniversary as Principal, where we celebrated the success of the school as well as the support of our staff, students and parents at our Little Movers Display in July.
Carol’s passion for teaching is still as strong as ever, and as Danceforce continues to rise from strength to strength she is so proud of how the Danceforce Team continues to strive for every student to reach their potential.
Gabriella trained at DuPont Dance Stage School and The Birmingham Royal Ballet. At 18 she gained a scholarship to train at Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance. Since graduating from Rambert, Gabriella danced professionally around the world for 9 years.
After retiring from performing she gained her RAD teaching qualifications, and joined the Danceforce team in January 2016.
Ballet, Tap and Modern
Louise trained at Millennium Performing Arts College and The Centre, upon graduating gaining her ISTD teaching qualifications. Louise has been teaching at Danceforce since 2012 and has enjoyed working with all her students particularly working to develop the Happy toes and Tappy toes classes.
Modern, Tap, Jazz, Ballet
Miss Korina started dancing at the age of three at Antigoni Tasouri Dance Academy in Cyprus, giving her the chance to perform in theatres and on national TV. She moved to England in 2010, where she trained in various styles of dance and theatre performance at Laine Theatre Arts.
Miss Korina completed her ISTD Teaching qualifications in Ballet, Tap and Modern and her passion for dance and the emotional benefits has led her to start studying for an MA in Dance Movement Psychotherapy at Goldsmiths University, which she has balanced alongside teaching at Danceforce since September 2017.

Ballet & Progressive Ballet Technique
Heather trained with Brian Nolan in Melbourne Australia, moved to the National Ballet School in the heart of Melbourne, taught by Australian ballet alumni Leigh Rowles, Eileen Tasker and Martin Rubinstine. At 13, Heather won the RAD Kathleen Gorham Memorial Award presented by members principals of the Australian Ballet School.
Heather moved into teaching at age 18 when injury stopped a promising professional career teaching at may Australian studios until purchasing a dance studio in 2011. Running a very successful Performing arts studio until mid 2014 when her husband’s work had the family relocating to the UK.
Miss Heather uses a combination of techniques and knowledge from her 18yrs of teaching experience, to complement the RAD syllabus helping students reach their full potential.
RAD RTS, ISTD DDE
Maxine Hamilton BA, DipHE, RAD RTS, ISTD DDE Maxine pursued a career in dance by attending Ballet West, Scotland, achieving a BA Classical Ballet Dance Performance with Distinction. Following her passion for teaching, Maxine then went on to complete a Diploma of Higher Education in Dance Education from The Royal Academy of Dance.
Maxine has taught in schools in Aberdeen, London and Melbourne, Australia and has experience teaching Ballet, ISTD Modern, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Adult Fitness. She has enjoyed working on a variety of projects including short courses with YDance and Scottish Youth Theatre as movement director, choreographing for events, delivering educational movement workshops for Ausdance in Melbourne and her role as Director of Community Dance for Tempered Body Dance Theatre.
Professional credits include: The Cone Gatherers (Scottish Tour), Swan Lake (Scottish Tour), Aladdin (Arts Centre Panto), Little Red Riding Hood (Arts Centre Panto) and White Night (Melbourne).
David Lawson Lean
BA Hons, PGCE
David has a B.A Honours Degree in Drama and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. He has worked extensively as a Drama Teacher. He has taught at a number of schools, dance schools and weekend theatre schools, as well as having over 20 years experience of coaching pupils for LAMDA speech & drama examinations. He has also been a Drama Lecturer in the Further Education sector. He currently works part-time for a junior school in Weybridge, where he is Curriculum Leader of Drama.
David runs his own independent youth theatre, Kingston Junior Drama Company, based at the Cornerhouse Arts Centre in Surbiton.
He is the writer of numerous plays for children all of which he has directed with casts of young people. He has also written original scripts for 11 musicals for children alongside songwriter Jane Marlow.
His own acting credits include: U.K tours of The Wind in The Willows, and A Christmas Carol, various repertory seasons, pantomimes and a one-man play.
On the fringe David has directed The Bear by Chekhov and Mountain Language by Pinter.
David is a member of EQUITY and a Licensed Chaperone.
Guest Teacher – FISTD Fellow and examiner of the ISTD, RAD RTS
Wendy trained at the Dance School of Scotland and Laine Theatre Arts. On graduating she pursued a professional career, performing in the West End, around the UK and internationally. When she retired from performing, Wendy returned to Scotland and founded a school of dance in Aberdeen where she taught for 6 years. Wendy is an experienced teacher of all ages ranging from children to vocational students, including tutoring the Dance Practice Unit of the DDI and DDE qualifications. She is currently teaching freelance at several vocational colleges of dance in London, as well as teaching younger students in primary schools. She is a Fellow and Examiner for the Modern Theatre and Tap Dance Faculties of the ISTD and she is also a member of the teaching teams for the Modern Theatre Advanced 1 and Advanced 2 recently revised syllabi.
Liz joined Danceforce this year as our school administrator. She is responsible for the day to day running of the school, dealing with enquiries, updating class registers, fees, notices… and much much more.
